A Modeling Technique for Media Access Protocol Evaluation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Abstract This paper presents a modeling technique for performance evaluation of media access protocols based on semi-markovmodels. The proposed techniqueprovides accurate performance prediction while also preserving model flexibility. General traffic generation and resource holding time distributions are supported with this approach. The model is independent of the system size and is linearly scalable to an arbitrary transmitter queue capacity. The analytic technique is introduced through the study of two simple media access protocols. The technique is then applied to a multi-channel photonic environment to evaluate protocol performance. The analytic technique is validated through extensive discrete-event simulation.

A new technique for performance evaluation of random access protocols
A new technique is proposed for performance evaluation of random access protocols. This technique is based on the idea that the service probability distribution of a particular random access protocol can be described by a phasetype distribution. By modeling the service probability distribution of a protocol into a phase-type distribution, the performance of the protocol can be evaluated using a...

Convenient procedure for the synthesis of corresponding pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives were developed via one-pot three-component reaction of aryl aldehyde derivatives, malononitrile with barbituric acids in the presence of copper (II) chloride dihydrate (CuCl2.2H2O) as highly efficient Lewis acid catalyst. This protocol has advantages such as readily and inexpensive catalyst, high reactio...
متن کاملEvaluation of a BIBD Based Directional MAC Protocol for Wireless Ad Hoc Networks
The use of directional antennas in wireless ad hoc networks can significantly improve global performance due to a high spatial channel reuse. Nevertheless, its introduction poses new location dependent problems related to the MAC protocol. In this paper, the Balanced Incomplete Block Design theory has been exploited to develop a new MAC protocol for wireless ad hoc networks using directional ant...
متن کاملProcess algebraic modeling of authentication protocols for analysis of parallel multi-session executions
Many security protocols have the aim of authenticating one agent acting as initiator to another agent acting as responder and vice versa. Sometimes, the authentication fails because of executing several parallel sessions of a protocol, and because an agent may play both the initiator and responder role in parallel sessions. We take advantage of the notion of transition systems to specify authen...
متن کاملAn Efficient and Cost Effective Protocol for In Vitro Propagation of Pineapple
An efficient and cost effective protocol for in vitro propagation of Pineapple (Ananas comosus var. Queen) has been developed. In the proliferation stage, agar based Murashige and Skoog (MS) media was supplemented with 3.0 mg/l benzyleaminopurine (BAP), 0.5 mg/l indole acetic acid (IAA) and 50 mg/l adenine sulphate as RBC design experiment. Two approaches were taken to reduce the chemical cost ...
